RAMPage
Donna Gunter-- Feb. 1, 2007
Given
my technology challenges of the last week and the
ever-increasing RAM requirements of downloaded programs,
RAMPage has been my friend for 8 years. RAMpage is a fr*ee Windows utility
that displays the amount of available memory in the System Tray.
It can also free memory by double clicking the tray icon, by
setting a threshold that activates the program automatically, or
by having it run automatically when a program exits.
I use the program indicators to
close some programs when RAMPage gets in the red zone, an
indicator that I'm perilously low in my amount of available RAM
and my computer might freeze if I don't shut some things down.
You would think with 1 GB of RAM that wouldn't happen, but it's
occurring more frequently here recently.
Monitor your RAM usage by
downloading your copy
here.
