Feel the Power, Baby!
The time finally arrived. I'd put it off for at least a year, and I couldn't put it off any longer. I REALLY needed a new computer. I was running out of space on my 250 MB drive and had begun to offload many audio and video files to an external 1 TB hard drive. I investigated the possibility of just getting a new hard drive, but I would have to do all the program reinstalls to that drive just like I would on a new computer. So, I went for the new computer instead.
My new HP gaming machine should arrive next week. Yes, I was finally convinced NOT to listen to the computer experts who kept telling me that I was overbuying computer power because I don't game. When you have 8-10 applications open at once, bouncing between them, as well as 15 browser windows on Firefox, you need the graphic power and memory of a gaming PC to work without crashing. And, unfortunately, my computer has been crashing alot lately and failing to properly display graphics.
Wow, it's amazing that I'm paying less for this machine than I did for my first "real" business computer in 1999 that had 512k of RAM and a 2 GB hard drive capacity..LOL

The one marketing mantra that I repeat time and time again is this: in all of your marketing strategies, your primary call to action should be to grow your list, even when doing social media marketing. If you own a professional service business, don't try and sell to your prospect immediately. Typically you need to allow for some time to pass so that the prospect gets to like, know and trust you before they are ready to hire you for the problem that they need to solve.
Linkedin offers a very easy way for you to invite contacts to join your list from your profile. You can do this through the use of one of the applications that Linkedin offers to connect to your profile. If you have several applications currently linked to your profile, you may have to remove one in order to make room for this new one.

Backlink Watch
 Current SEO dictates that the more one-way backlinks you have from a site, the more importance and relevance your site holds. If you have no idea how many one-way links there are to your site, now there's a free tool you can use to check this out.
Backlink Watch lets you type the URL of your web site to get complete detailed information about quality and quantity of backlinks pointing to your site. It will show you anchor text, page rank, total outbound links on that page, and nofollow flag for each of your inbound link available.
When you begin to type in your URL, you will be hit for a request to purchase backlinks, but you can close out of that and then complete your URL. The free version limits you to viewing 1000 of your top backlinks. After all your results are loaded, you can click the column headers to sort the results. You can also click the anchor text to further analyze the keyword competition to improve your ranking.
